Dog Daycare

Is your dog home alone all day? Having separation anxiety? Bursting with energy? Confined to a crate? Destroying your house? In need of socialization, weight loss or just plain bored?  Don’t feel guilty, bring them to day care!
We love big dogs too, but we can only accommodate dogs 40 pounds and under in our day care program.

Benefits of day care

  • Provides regular exercise to maintain a healthy weight.
  • Relieves boredom, separation anxiety and destructive behavior.
  • Improves socialization skills with dogs and people.
  • Enhances positive behaviors and quality of life.

Why choose GK9 for day care?

At The Green K9, we not only believe in providing the highest standards, but we set the standards for comfort, cleanliness and care for our K9 guests. Your dog will be able to play all day with friends, get fresh outdoor air every hour, snooze on custom dog couches, and snuggle in warm blankets.  We keep our dog-to-human staff ratio low, so we can give your dog the special attention he or she needs.

  • Indoor playroom with viewing window.
  • Doggie Treadmill sessions available.
  • HOURLY group outings on K9 grass to avoid muddy dogs and it allows us to sanitize our yard area.
  • Our guests are inspected head to paw while in day care.  Our staff looks at each guest for issues that need to be brought to their parent’s attention, such as: ear and eye infections, skin and coat issues, grooming needs, etc.
  • We DO NOT “put the dogs away in crates” for 2 hours of “nap time”.  Dogs are permitted to self nap on comfortable beds in the playroom as they need to.  Our goal is to return a happy, calm and tired dog to you. You may request a private rest time if necessary for health reasons.
  • Most of the barking issues in pet care facilities are due to dogs expressing their need for human attention and protesting confinement. We strive to provide a stress free environment with noise control. We do this by keeping the dogs happy, entertained and not confined. If a dog is unable to be in the group and is inconsolable in a holding space, we will contact their pet parent to have them picked up.

Health and Safety

We have taken every precaution when it comes to the design and safety of our facility.

  • Our staff is highly trained and the owner has 18 years experience designing, building and managing pet care facilities.
  • Our playroom is thoroughly sanitized daily to kill bacteria and viruses. A natural enzyme spot cleaner is used where dogs can come in contact with it.
  • Our soft but nonporous vinyl flooring prevents urine from soaking in, unlike rubber, tile (grout) or concrete flooring.
  • Our day care trials assist in assuring all of our guests thrive in an open play setting.

Day Care Trials

First 4 hours are free
  • All day care candidates must pass an evaluation to ensure our guests are suitable for an open-play environment and we are a suitable place for them.
  • We perform a thorough physical inspection of your dog and assess their temperament and behaviors with people and other dogs.

Harnesses

All dogs must wear a loose fitting harness for safety reasons.  It also assists us when moving them inside and outside, since we do not leash them. You can bring one, purchase one from us or rent one for $3 a day.

  • All females must be spayed and all males over a year old must be neutered.
